These free Alberta resources help parents and caregivers create a safer sleep space for a baby. The information is for babies from birth to their first birthday.
The guides explain these important steps:
Put your baby on their back for every sleep.
Use a crib, cradle or bassinet with a firm, flat mattress.
Keep pillows, toys, bumper pads and loose bedding out of the sleep space.
Keep your baby comfortably warm, not hot.
Keep your baby's home and sleep space smoke-free.
Place your baby's crib, cradle or bassinet in your room. Give your baby a separate sleep surface.
These steps can reduce the risk of sleep-related injuries and death.
