Why Participate?
This IRCC-funded initiative is designed to provide meaningful and practical information that organizations can use for:
Planning and decision-making
Funding applications and proposals
Advocacy and sector engagement
Identifying emerging client and community needs
Understanding service pressures and workforce challenges
Identifying service gaps and opportunities across Alberta
Benchmarking experiences and trends across the sector
Most importantly, this is a survey by the sector, for the sector.
The more organizations and frontline staff who participate, the stronger and more representative the findings will be, helping ensure that sector priorities, challenges, and emerging needs are accurately reflected in future planning and advocacy efforts.
About This Year's Surveys
Over the past year, AAISA worked with settlement and integration organizations across Alberta to redesign its Sector Survey through consultations, interviews, pilot testing, and sector feedback.
The redesign was informed by a review of five years of survey data (2019-2024), AAISA's most recent Sector Survey Evaluation, and comparable sector-wide surveys. Questions that support long-term trend tracking were retained, while others were updated to better reflect current sector realities and emerging priorities.
For the first time, separate surveys have been developed for management and frontline staff, creating a clearer picture of organizational and client-facing experiences across the sector.
The result is a shorter, more focused survey that captures the information organizations told us matters most, while strengthening AAISA's ability to bring reliable sector data to planning, advocacy, and funding discussions
